Sorry I can't make the reunion. Our youngest daughter is getting married that weekend in Pennsylvania so naturally we have to be there.

I hope people will partiipate in this blog so we can all find out what we've bben up to in the short 50 years since we've been apart.

My wife and I live in Sherwood, Arkansas, a suburb of Little Rock, and have 9 grandchildren so far. Most of them live nerarby so we stay busy with them. They range in age from 4-24. Lots of fun!

Hey Craig Stotts!  I'm happy for your daughter and your family, but sad you won't be able to come to #50.  I'm now in Horseshoe Bay, Texas.  Life is good.

We tie with 9 grandkids ranging in age from 1 month to 16 years.  Fun, huh?

Craig, I remember English classes with you were always fun! Sorry not to see you in October. I'm in Taos NM, graduated from Tech law school in 1977, moved here 21 years ago from El Paso, where I moved in 1979 from Lubbock.  I'm still close friends with many Monterey girls-Sherron Schmidt, Lindi Lamoreaux, Jane Sheffield, Phyllis Pitts (CHS '67), Teri Sudderth, Sherry Hester, Meredith (fka Janet) Abbey, Linda Hayes, Margie Cope, Kay Holmes and others!  I have 2 grandkids, 2 step kids, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and even great great nieces and nephews, and lots of animals.  New Mexico is a great place to be....

Danny Jones on October 8, 2017 3:08 PM
Thanks Rod I'll give it a try!

Rod,  I think the number is still good.  The number does list him as owner.  I left a couple of voices mail messages but he never called me back.  Heck, he may not even remember me. I'm just hoping he's doing okay and great memories of him!

Just posting past note from Sherron in case other people have too many stacked emails to track. Looking forward to sharing time together.
There is a drop in meet and greet Thurs night at Overton hotel bar and
patio. Guests purchase own drinks and snacks if desired.

Updates on a few people who aren't coming.

I see Randy Smith pretty often. Same old Randy & always fun to be around.

Sammy Skibell called me a few years back for a long conversation. He is as
entertaining as ever.

Sam Cox stayed with us for a few days in 2015. I could listen to his stories for hours.

I still see John Henry, Greg Luger & David Witt pretty often. My old friends are doing well.

As for me, Tess & I moved from Seattle to Lubbock in 2005. My mother was getting old & we decided to make sure she was happy. I sold my business a few years back & am retired. Still travel quite a bit. Since the 1997 reunion, 7 trips to India, 3 to Nepal. Went to Egypt, Ethiopia, England, Ireland & Spain. Other than that, just surviving in the Hub City.

I had a wonderful time at the 30 year reunion & look forward to seeing my old classmates.

As You All Gather For Cocktails And Conversation I Regret That I Can't Share Memories With You.  I Was looking Forward To This Event But Unforseen Medical Issues Suddenly And Unexpectedly Occurred A Few Weeks Ago And I Am Grounded.
Fortunately I Keep Up With Many Of You By Facebook And I Welcome You To Friend Me Because It's A Great Way To Catch Up On Your Family And Lifetime Events And Remain In Contact For The Future.
As For My Story...My Wife Of Almost Thirty Years Kathlyn James Simmons ( Coronado Class Of Seventy One ) Passed Away In September 2000 Of A Very Rare Form Of M.S. That Attacked Her At Age 48 And Took Her Just Before She Turned Fifty.
We Were Blessed With Two Daughters Tosha And Erica Resulting In Tosha's Children Elizabeth, Olivia, (Both Red Raiders Now )
And A Son Josh In High School.  Erica Has One Daughter Milla In Middle School Now.
In 2010 While In Houston For Cardiac Treatment I, By Coincidence Re-Connected With My High School Sweetheart Debbie Ezell Simmons Who Had Lost Her Spouse About The Same Time As Kathy Passed.  We Married In 2011 And I Now Have Three Step Children Kyle, Kristi, And Kellee And Three Step Grandchildren.
Unfortunately After A Five Year Battle With Lymphoma Debbie Passed Last June And Is In A Much Better Place Now.
This Sad Event Has At Least Blessed Me With More Time To Spend With My Kids And Grandkids.
I Hope You All Have A Blast This Weekend And Remember I Would Be With You To Share This Special Time If It Was Possible.
I Miss You All But I Have Many Memories To Cherish From Our Days Together At MHS..
